Freeze or Fuel: Aligning Your Choices with Your Vision
“May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears.” ~Nelson Mandela
Are your decisions shaped by fear or vision? Fear can feel “safer,” telling us to avoid risk, to make sure to the nth degree that we’ve looked at things from every angle, and protect what we already know……and keep us stuck and stagnant.
On the other hand, when our choices align with what truly matters to us, our values, hopes, and the vision we have, something shifts. We move from freezing, overthinking or stalling, to finding momentum. We move from circling around “this or that could go wrong,” and lean into “what’s possible.” Our aligned choices spurs hope and fuels action. We are not ignoring risk, but seeing from the angle of it being a part of our growth.
Are your choices freezing you in place, or fueling what you want to create?
I offer a few thoughts to help you shift forward:
Allow yourself the space and time to identify what’s really holding you back.
Keep your vision in the forefront. Ask yourself, “What choice best reflects what I truly want?”
Start where you are. Take steps aligned with your values, hope and vision rather than waiting to be 100% certain.
Consider risk from another angle. Envision risk as a step toward growth, not just as a potential failure.
Build your support network. Surround yourself with people who encourage vision-driven action.
Fear can freeze; hope and vision can fuel. Our daily decisions serve as an opportunity to move our goals forward and drive the impact we want to create.
Where in your life or leadership are you choosing from fear instead of vision?
