Taking Off My Super "S" Cape

Most of us are engaged in the juggling act at some level, whether it's caring for our family, going to school during the evening while working during the day or vice versa, working multiple job, having a long commute, or working full-time while building a business during the evening and weekends, etc. A medical issue recently caused me to put things in perspective, to slow down, to take the time to rest and heal. I had to lay down the weight of guilt, pressure and worrying and honor myself, realizing that at this particular time, the best thing I can do is to dedicate time to my self care.

I had to give myself permission to take off the super "S" cape and be vulnerable, to share my emotions, to not allow my ego to get in the way, but to "put my fears on a hidden shelf" and open myself to receiving help. My family along with friends have been a tower of support and I express my deepest gratitude. A work in progress, I am learning to lighten up on myself and to be a great steward of my time and energy. For starters, I am being good to myself and resting and above all, accepting and embracing the loving care of family and friends.
