Start Where You Are, Shape What Comes Next
On Mondays, I choose a quote that resonates with me and share it in hopes that it will serve as a dose of inspiration to start your work week.
As we near the end of November and approach the final stretch of 2025, many of us naturally find ourselves in a space of reflection – taking stock of what worked, what shifted, and what didn’t unfold as planned. Not from a place of self-criticism, but from awareness.
And that awareness is powerful. It offers the space to pause, get honest about where you truly are, and choose your direction with intention.
A reminder: you don’t need a perfect beginning to create a meaningful ending.
“You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” ~C.S. Lewis
This quote offers both relief and permission. It allows us to release the pressure to “make up for lost times” and instead ground ourselves in the present moment.
Starting where you are might look like:
Naming what needs to shift (without judgment)
Acknowledging what’s working and what’s no longer working
Letting go of old priorities that aren’t aligned with where you are headed
Recalibrating expectations – for yourself, your team, or the season you are in
Choosing one next step that feels meaningful and doable
As we prepare to close out the year, this mindset becomes even more valuable. It’s an opportunity to transition from urgency to intention – clearing space for the kind of clarity, renewal, and alignment December often invites.
✨ This week I invite you to reflect on this: If you start from exactly where you are, without judgment, what’s the next step that would move you toward the ending you want to create?
Small, grounded decisions now can shape a different beginning in the new year.
If you or your team are heading into year-end feeling stretched, misaligned, or unsure of the next step, I welcome a conversation. A coaching partnership or focused aligned session can help you clarify priorities, reduce pressure, and enter December and the new year with confidence and grounded momentum.
Until next time…
