Your Words

"Exert your talents, and distinguish yourself, and don't think of retiring from the world, until the world will be sorry that you retire." ~Samuel Johnson

At the core of what I do through my business is to encourage, educate and challenge people to take ownership of their careers and leverage their uniqueness to create personal and professional assets. From experience, I have learned that you have to take control and be willing to put in the work to get the results. You also have to be vigilant to what you tell yourself, because words have power. So often we use our words to sabotage our progress and to belittle what we bring to the table, our talents and skills. We hold back from truly stepping into our uniqueness because we don’t want to ‘show off’ or ‘show up’ another person. We go through 'not enough to achieve' mental chatter, whether it’s that we are not ‘good enough, experienced enough, don’t speak a certain way, don’t have enough education, etc.” We get sidetracked and don’t allow our greatness to truly reach the world.

When you are living into your uniqueness, it’s not about 'showing off' or 'showing up' anyone; it’s about standing in your innate talents, skills and gifts and bringing your best to all that you do. It’s about using your words to enrich your life and propel you forward. The world needs what you have to offer, “don’t retire from the world, until the world will be sorry that you retire.”

Are your words serving to propel you forward or are they serving as continuous loops of limitation?
